As always, in the event of an emergency, call 911. But please don't hesitate to contact the officers directly at 970-539-2171. Any student, visitor, faculty or staff member can request an escort to their vehicle anytime by calling the officers directly at 970-539-2171. Security at the Greeley Campus can be reached 24 hours/day at 970-539-2171. Additionally, School Resource Officers can be reached at 970-590-0415 and can be e-mailed at security@aims.edu or by calling x6478 from an on-campus phone and leaving a message. For emergencies, dial 911 from any Greeley campus phone. Security at the Loveland campus can be reached by calling 970-518-5137 in the evenings and on Saturday. Loveland is also patrolled by the Weld County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers and can be reached at one of the numbers above. For emergencies, dial 9 to get an outside line, then 911 from Loveland to contact the Loveland Police Department. Security at the Ft Lupton campus can be reached by calling 303-591-3164 at any time the campus is open. Ft Lupton is also patrolled by the Weld County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers and can be reached at one of the numbers above. For emergencies, dial 9 to get an outside line, then 911 from Ft Lupton to contact the Weld County Dispatch Center. Students and staff can report crimes in a variety of ways. To begin with, calling the local law enforcement agency in the event you are involved in things from traffic accidents, assaults, auto breakins, restraining order violations, ect. They can be reached by calling 970-356-4015 or calling dispatch at 970-350-9600. You can also contact one of the School Resource Officers who are also deputies with the Weld County Sheriff’s Office by calling 970-539-2171 or 970-590-0415. These numbers are the same for all Aims locations. We also file incident reports for other issues pertaining to actions of students or staff that do not qualify as a criminal event, such as injuries on campus or disputes between individuals. The State of Colorado also has laws pertaining to the Duty to Report a Crime and can be found by accessing the Colorado Revised Statutes 18-8-115 The procedure for after hour and weekend key service is the same. Faculty or staff notifies Facilities and Operations at extension 6243 during normal working hours so that security officers are notified of the up coming need for after hour access. Officers can be reached at 970-539-2171 to unlock doors and deactivate intrusion alarms. Key service during normal business hours has changed. To request key service during the day, please contact Jerry Millsap directly at 970-518-5136. Lighting is a constant concern to the college and it’s visitors. If you find an area where the lighting is off or inadequate, please send an e-mail to security@aims.edu or Jeffrey.smith@aims.edu. You can also call Facilities and Operations at x6243 from an on campus phone. We have a team of dedicated individuals who constantly review lighting concerns throughout the campus and lighting projects are always being evaluated. Any assistance or recommendations is always welcomed. To turn in an item or inquire of a lost article, please contact Jerry Millsap at 970-518-5136. If any student, visitor, faculty or staff member needs assistance with vehicle break downs, Public Safety representatives will be happy to respond by helping the vehicle owner make contact with a service provider and staying with the owner until help arrives. Officers can be contacted by calling 539-2171 twenty-four hours a day seven days a week. Services that can no longer be provided include: Jump Starting – With newer vehicles there is increased risk of damage to computers and electrical systems when jump starting occurs. Due to the potential for costly damage, Public Safety will no longer provide this service. Vehicle Lock Outs – Due to the risk of damage to electrical systems in vehicle doors, Public Safety can no longer provide assistance with the use of “slim jims”. Flat tires – Due to the risk of damage to the wheels and finishes, this service can no longer be provided.
